Do you remember when there weren’t adjectives and hyphens constantly attached to the descriptions of rock bands? When it was about a group of people getting onto a stage or going into a studio and just laying it down as loud as possible with no regard for tomorrow? Confused Little Girl does, and hopes like hell that at some point the rest of the musical world will, too.
In the middle of 2005, Confused Little Girl started jamming. In a small little space in Orlando, FL they would get together, crank up the amplifiers and start ripping into as many riffs as could be spit out. After a bunch of songs had been written and they felt that they’d listened to enough AC/DC and Clutch, they put together an ep and debuted their act onto some folks at a House of Blues show. It was surprisingly well received.
In just a short period of time, our hell bound heroes have now been playing all over the southeast and are quickly becoming a major presence throughout. The most common reaction to Confused Little Girl is usually something along the lines of “wow they can really play” or “what a breath of fresh air” and with their provocative and uniquely improvisation filled live shows and high regard for showmanship, it’s no surprise.
Already, CLG is seeing radio airplay on college radio stations along the east coast and a strong Internet buzz is developing. People seem to like hearing actual rock music with good riffs, guitar solos and dynamics. Weird, isn’t it?
This year will see Confused Little Girl taking it’s act to the rest of the world, beginning with THE BASTARDS OF ROCK TOUR, a nine day excursion to nine different cities in nine different states on the east coast in the month of March. In June the boys will be traveling through the Midwest, and will finish out the year with a longer stint of tour dates on the west coast. Mid ‘06 a full length album should be available, with a dvd out around the same time.
Maybe after all that, the rest of the world will have caught on to this whole, good old fashioned rock music thing.
